Elaine Newington Ward is a well-established and qualified. Artist, Photographer, Illustrator and Designer. Not surprisingly, therefore, her work often displays a multimedia approach reflecting her interest in these different genres. Her styles can vary depending on the dominant genre. She was also, for many years, a well-known Garden Designer until her retirement.
She enjoys painting in the style of children’s book illustrations from the 1950’s to create poster-like images of the Yorkshire Dales. Several of these have been displayed in Yorkshire businesses for many years. A recent set of paintings show a new and creative approach to illustrating local scenes.She ,,so likes to work with digital image manipulation using her own specially created artwork as the subject.
Her photographic work is also wide-ranging. She exhibits a personal style of photomontage as well as standard landscape work and street photography. She has been the Chair of Settle Photographic Group from 2024 to 2026.

Elaine has recently produced a set of digital images seeking the essence of beach cobbles. Working from her own photographs she has post-processed abstractions to create something new. These pictures display the hidden colours within the rocks and highlight the natural designs of the earth itself.
